During a vacation in Turkey in 2011 I decided to participate in a PADI Discover Scuba Diving program where I could breathe underwater for the first time. It was such a wonderful experience that when I returned to the Netherlands‚ I immediately decided to start my first PADI courses.

This new passion for diving combined with my passion for teaching‚ soon made me start my career as a PADI professional; I obtained my PADI Divemaster certification and shortly thereafter became a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.

During a sabbatical period during my specialization as a medical surgeon‚ I started working with a dive center in Ustica in the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. When I returned to Lugano‚ Switzerland‚ and went back to work in the hospital‚ I decided I wanted to change my life completely. I packed my things and returned to Sicily to work with a PADI Instructor Development Center. I continued to invest in my diving career by becoming a PADI IDC Staff Instructor. I also decided‚ as a medical doctor‚ to specialize in diving medicine and to gain in-depth knowledge about the diagnosis‚ treatment and prevention of diving-related pathologies.

In 2017‚ Rino and I established our own PADI dive center‚ Evasioni Blu Diving. Hard work and a lot of love and passion for this work led to the diving center being recognized as a PADI 5 Star IDC Center in 2018.
